The Bible reminds us to give thanks for everything, always, because gratitude is one of the finest attributes a godly man can have. On Thursday, we formally acknowledge all that we should probably be appreciating the rest of the year.
When we do, let us remember that the people presently controlling our nation view any utterance of dissent as evidence of profound ingratitude, of proof that the petulant complainers don’t know how good they have it as Americans. This viewpoint has not always been entrenched within the fortress walls of the White House. President Theodore Roosevelt once said, “To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
Happy Thanksgiving from the very thankful folks at MichaelKonik.com.
